Umbrellas since 1830

James Smith & Sons Umbrellas

James Smith & Sons Umbrellas on New Oxford Street, London, is an umbrella shop with an interesting history and outstanding reputation. Their website says, “The business in umbrellas has always thrived, perhaps because of the English weather, but also because of the outstanding reputation the company has for new umbrellas, and their repair service.” Unfortunately, England is known for its rain. Fortunately for James Smith and Sons, the weather has kept them in business since 1830!

Love the shop sign. Interesting shop too. Not many repair shops exist now. We are too much of a throw away society 😦
