West Street Horse

I went on my first proper graffiti hunt in Bristol today and took about 160 photos! Unfortunately I’m working with a dongle at the moment so I can’t upload them all at once, but here’s my favourite piece of the day – West Street Horse by Andy Council.

Andy Council is an illustrator and graffiti artist from Bristol. His work usually combines dinosaurs with architecture, but this time he has used a horse. On his Flickr page, he says:

Very big horse and lots of work! The beast is made up of Bristol landmarks and in particular ones found in Bedminster and West Street. The horse was the chosen animal way before the processed meat scandal. I wanted an animal that would reflect the areas working past of mines and industry.

The mural went up in February this year.
