John Cabot

Yesterday I shared some pictures of a statue of Cary Grant, but today I’d like to share my favourite statue in Bristol. This is John Cabot, Italian navigator and explorer (c.1450 ā€“ c.1499). I like this statue because it represents exploration and adventure, but also because of the way he sits looking out to sea. Sometimes art isn’t just about the piece itself, but also about its placement.
