Cherry CharmsPosted: March 11, 2014
While I was walking to work this morning my head was full of thoughts of Japan. Today marked the 3rd anniversary of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Even though it’s not quite spring here in the UK, and this morning was particularly chilly, I hoped I might find some cherry blossom on my walk. As it happened, I did, and I also found something else. Hanging from the tree were some red and white woolen charms, one with a ladybird attached. I don’t know if they had any meaning, but their cuteness reminded me of Japanese charms, and I took it as a sign. Wherever I look, Japan is there, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
